Crude Monopoly

Thought I’d post an update as the topic of  “Casse when are you playing again?!” has been coming up a lot lately.

Well…

…1. I had a baby.  She’s great. And she dances when I sing, so that’s some motivation, for real

…2. I’m redeveloping the site.  I don’t know what it’s going to look like when I’m done … but it’s gonna be awesome

…3. (Bestest for lastest!) I’m back in the studio. We finally got things set up again, even some extra soundproofing and whatnots last week – so it’s working on tracks in my free inspired moments.  First up? I’m not sure.  You’ll just have to wait and see.

So, yeah. I know you kids are patient and kind, and I want to say thanks for that and I promise it’ll be worth it

Happy Monday!

Just wanted to drop a note to those of you sticking with me while I get things going again … This time next week we’ll have loaded up the studio along with some antiques and what else of my life I don’t mind paying to mave 3,000 miles & we’ll be getting ready for one last party night in LA before flying back home to buckle down and get things running for real.

I hope to be up and recording again by August 8 … and from there I hope to have at least a track or two out for review and collaboration 2 weeks from there.

I’ve had “Polar Bear Club” in my head for months … so she’s first on the list. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.  It will be the first of many, many tracks to come!

Until then, if you’re socal family: I’ll see you soon!  If your HBG family, well – don’t miss me too much!

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, life is hectic right now.  My studio is in a coma 3000 miles away, getting farther by the moment.  In the process, I’ll be doing my best to post demos and updates here so I can keep everyone in the loop.  Publicly, you can still find me every Thursday @ the Abbey Bar, and when other shows come up I’ll definitely let you know!!  Meanwhile, I do appreciate your love and patience in the process  

Anyway, as I’m posting and hitting the bricks and posting some more, don’t forget to hit me up if you’d like to get together on any of the demos you hear coming out.   I often feel my songs moving in different directions at the same time, and that is the biggest reason I decided to make Crude Monopoly more of a “collaborative experiment” than a traditional band.

The coming months are going to be great.  I’m glad to have you here, and grateful you tell your friends.

The Centralia Sinkhole

Ok.  Music AS PROMISED!!  This little beauty is a personal favorite of mine, and I hope you’ll enjoy it, too.  As I’ve often been overheard saying, “This song is the first song I wrote about someone in particular.  Be happy that someone isn’t you…”

Now, this could be the one time I’m wrong, and if I am: well, you know who you are – so, thanks for the inspiration After all these years, songs like this are my catharsis – I don’t hold on to the angry anymore – but I don’t forget how to relate.  I never could.  Or I would forget myself.

Casse goes to Centralia

If you didn’t know yet, I’m kinda a closet rockstar.  Yes.  I’d like to be more than that.  Yes. I will still keep this up even if I wasn’t … My music is my heart … it embodies my soul better than I can on my own.

So stay tuned.  I’ll be adding a few teaser tracks this week: it’s a raw demo/single/limited copy release. It’s titled “An  Imperfect Debut,” and I hope you enjoy hearing these songs as much as I love to sing them.
